Dr. Erica Hernandez, is a doctor of chiropractic, and a DONA trained birth doula, she has a Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness and a Bachelor of Science in Biology; she strives to empower others, by letting them know they have a voice in their health and wellness. She also offers support as a birth doula to expecting mothers at home, hospital, or birth center, as they embark on the journey of birth.
Erica began her journey to supporting mothers by becoming a doctor of chiropractic, and attending International Chiropractic Pediatric Association Seminars to further her skills in caring for expecting mothers, infants, and children. While in chiropractic school, she married her high school sweetheart and they welcomed their first child; the birth of her son did not go as planned, and the method of delivery unexpectedly changed, igniting within her, a passion to serve women on their journey to becoming a mother.
After graduation, Erica and her family moved back to San Antonio where she took some time off to stay home with their son. In 2013 she accepted a position teaching at a local private college where she taught Biology and Physical Education. In 2015, she and her family welcomed a baby girl by VBAC(vaginal birth after cesarean) in the comfort of their home and with the support of a midwife and doula. She again took a hiatus to spend time with her family and is now ready to continue her journey serving mothers and their families.
