We believe that pregnancy and childbirth are a rite of passage worthy of honor and celebration. During this sacred time in a family's life, we honor the journey by giving a woman and her baby the best care possible. We work intuitively, utilizing a variety of techniques to optimize physiological function, increase neurological communication and optimize space in the body so that the mother and her baby can work together in pregnancy and birth.
In addition to offering chiropractic care, we hone in on our passion for empowered birth, to support expectant mothers. Our experiences as women and mothers, have impacted the way we serve women, and strive to empower them through one of the most sacred experiences of their life.
Although Dr. Erica does not currently accept doula clients, she uses her experience as a birth doula to provide birth education for expecting families, including pain coping techniques and emotional support in the office. We want you to be empowered, in every decision you make.

As parents, we are here to tell you that if there is any time in your life, that it is critical for you to take care of your nervous system, then pregnancy is that time.
People conceive, and have children every day, but how often do we talk about the important details that involve the process of two cells, merging, transforming and growing into a living, breathing, thriving human being.
From the moment of conception, change is happening; two cells meet, to form a unique combination of traits from mom and dad, but the journey that follows is much more complex, and we want to support you along your journey.
Among the more obvious physical changes of a growing belly and altered posture, we also have many physiological changes occurring within to create the ideal environment for your growing baby. All of the changes can result in mom's body adapting and becoming misaligned, or subluxated. Regular check ups and adjustments help the body to better adapt to the coming changes, helping you achieve optimal health and wellness.

The Breech release is a whole-body approach to addressing a lack of space contributing to a baby's position in utero. This specialized technique is meticulously tailored in our office, utilizing the chiropractic derived Webster Technique, we perform a series of 3 consecutive chiropractic adjustments. In some cases, a breech baby will spin to a cephalic position after this step. Continued care is recommended to maintain this presentation. and aimed at providing a harmonious restoration and balance to the body.
In the event that a baby maintains their breech presentation, a second technique known as a Breech Release is implemented. The Breech Release involves a series of positions and movements, combined with soft tissue mobilization. The technique takes a substantial amount of time, and is NOT to be confused with an ECV(external cephalic version). The baby is not moved by the provider alternatively; space is created as tension is released allowing the baby to shift into a more optimal position if they are physically able.
The release incorporates gentle bodywork techniques aimed at promoting space through the artful use of creative positioning, gravity, and movement. The therapy skillfully communicates with the available space within the womb to allow your baby room to mobilize.
The technique is NOT an external cephalic version (ECV), but may be performed in preparation for or following an ECV.
Optimal Timing for Breech Release
First Pregnancy: 30-32 weeks gestation
Second + Pregnancy: 34-36 weeks gestation

Bone sculpting is a restorative technique in which the soft tissue of the abdomen and upper hips are assessed and massaged therapeutically.
This practice is appropriate for anyone, but might be of interest for those who associate with the following:
Menstrual pains
Pregnancy
Scar Tissue
Athletic in nature
Postpartum
Fertility Issues
Mal-positioned baby

Just as you would take time to prepare for a marathon, it is wise to take time to prepare for birth. Chiropractic care is an important part of any prenatal team. Making sure that your body is functioning at a higher level, allows you and your baby to work better together and ideally follow the path of least resistance. Regular chiropractic care combined with other things, including, but not limited to physical therapy, acupuncture, regular exercise and a healthy diet help support a healthy pregnancy.
Birth is usually the first traumatic event we experience in life. As the uterus contracts, your baby gets compressed and ideally makes their way through the birth canal. On occasion, babies need assistance to be born via c-section, or by other means, and they get pulled out into the world. The confines of pregnancy and the push and pull of labor can result in your baby having tension and restrictions or subluxations after birth.
Just as we have done with our own children, We want to make sure your children's spines are subluxation free, so they can start their journey off strong! As a gift, families under regular chiropractic may qualify to receive a complimentary checkup for their newborn within the first month of birth, others may qualify to receive a discount.
Although Dr. Erica chose to have unmedicated births with all of her children, for unforeseen reasons, she ended up with a cesarean section with her first born. After much healing, physically and emotionally, she has gone on to have five vaginal births after her cesarean (VBAC) at home with her other children. The contrast between births, prepared her with a unique perspective to support families on their journey, wherever it may lead.
